Your loveable Minister of Sin here, Tom Connelly, with a quick – very quick as I’m tremendously busy with an essay and Japanese homweork – update on what’s happening with the Japan Society this week, in particular, the film night (since it’s the regular event I sometimes have input!)

Wednesday

Fine, Totally Fine

I hope we have a good crowd on Wednesday. I’ll certainly be there, even though I should be doing a horrendous amount of work. We’ll also try to be a bit more organised this time, getting the right key and everything – if you were there last time, you’ll know the troubles we had getting it all started. So, be down in the Vernon Square common room by 7PM, we’ll make sure we’re there too!

Gameshow

Yes, it’s that time of the year (nearly). We’re working on all the events, improving on the gameshow last year, making sure every event is hilariously awesome. So we’ll definitely need some volunteers people! You may be scarred for life, emotionally or otherwise, but it’s worth it.

I’ll work on these blogs, I’ll make one specifically for the gameshow and another for the film screenings, get a proper blog going. Though I’m not sure how many of you will read this, but I hope it does get read. I’ll make it look all sparkly and colourful and funtastic, just like my personality…

So, until Wednesday, keep sinning.

Introducing the SOAS Japan Society

Hello and welcome to the SOAS Japan Society purveyors of excitement and culture and that.

Do you study Japanese?

Are you Japanese?

Are you interested in Japan?

Are you none of the above?

Then this is the society for you!

Everybody and anybody is welcome to join our highly exclusive club. We organise all sorts of trips, events, concerts, film nights and other things with which to fill your precious time. A sense of adventure, a desire to meet people, and mild debauchery is encouraged. So, whether you’re a Culture Vulture or, erm, a Fluorescent Adolescent Pheasant, there’s something for you. But, like a cake, a casserole, or a tenuous metaphor for your degree, a society is only what you make of it – so come and play your part. Funtimes sort-of guaranteed.
